Please tell us more about the backup host:

Which OS?
Can datastores be seen in OS device manager?
Is backup host also the media server?
(Does not seem to be the case as a Solaris server seems to be the media server, right?)

Hello Marianne,

**the master server : Solaris 10 NBU 7.5.0.6

**the vmware administrator confirmed that the datastore LUNs can be seen by the backup host.

**no the backup host isn't the media server the backup host is windows server 2003.

**the media server is Solaris 10 and nbu 7.5.0.6

best regards.

Abdelaziz.

Is backup host a physical machine or a VM?

If backup host a VM, backup cannot be SAN based.

See :

i was referring the hardware verions of the VM, not the physical box.. you can see the hardware version for each VM in Vcenter.
