source dedup get status 14

Hi,

When we try to perform client side dedup backups 50-60 % of the backups fail with status 14 and if we change to media server dedup we get no errors at all. This would normally not be an issue except that we backup hosts over small WAN links, 2-10 mbit so we need client side dedup to not run beyond our backup window.

We run Netbackup 7.0.1, Master and media servers are Windows 2008 R2 and with lots of memory 32 GB each and the dedup area are not bigger than 12 TB, all media servers run media server deduplication.

Any suggestions?

Kind regards
Andreas

Hi Andreas,

I'm having the same problem. Did you ever solve this?

Thanks!

Hi Andreas,
after a bunch of playing around, this ended up being Checkpoints that was causing it. If I turn off checkpoints, all of my client-side dedupe jobs finish fine.

There seems to be a timeout when the checkpoint happens that causes it. Working with support on it now.
