When we setup a sql backup job using sql agent and call the script from the master server the first time we run it, it fails with a status 2. Reruns after that work with no issue. Anyone know if there is a registry setting that happens during that first run or anything we can do to prevent this? Thanks.
netbackup master 7.6.0.3 aix

Create dbclient folder on the client under netbackup\logs.
After next failure followed by success, please post all text in Job Details of failed as well as successful job, along with dbclient log.
Please copy the log file to dbclient.txt and upload as File attachment.
dbclient log should tell us reason for initial failure.

Hi Marianne sorry I have been out of the office. Tried this again on a new setup and the first time it runs it doesn't produce anything in the logs-I turned logging way up and nothing gets generated in the dbclient log it looks like backupex.exe briefly runs then dies. If it is run a second time everything is fine. Really odd behavior..

Can this be applicable to your case

Also check TCPKeepLiveparameter
For logs as its 7.6.. post job details (parent and child for sql) it does list snnipets of dbclient
