This would be the NetBackup code that 'looks' after the backup of SQL databases. Also known as the 'database agent'.

in our environment we have:
Mater server:win234
nbu client name on master server GUI in sql policy is:winl2-back
SQl host is:WINL2
windows client:winl2
what would be NetBackup for SQL Server here?

Which one is running the SQL database - that is the NBU for SQL server.
If that iswinl2, then it is that server

NetBackup Server = master and/or media server
SQL Server = the machine where SQL database is running
NetBackup For SQL Server = the NetBackup agent/code/plugin/dll that interacts with SQL in order to back it up while online. (See Martin's 1st reply above.)
