Hello Techs,
hope everyone is doing well. I need your help.
in my environment , suddenly oracle archive log backups are failing with error code 6. but sometimes it is getting successful. not sure why it is failing intermittently.
however databse backups are running fine.
master and media server : netbackup appliance version 8.1.1
mixed clients : operating system is liunx and windows. version 8.1.1 and 7.7.3
please shed some light if you have any ideas

That is honestly something that your DBA must do.
I have typed this into Google:
man-04004: error from recovery catalog database: ORA-12170: TNS: connect time out
The result is 5 or 6 links.
Your DBA needs to read through the links to see if any of it is applicable.
Seeing that more than one Oracle client is having the same issue, the problem seems to be with the RMAN Catalog database and/or associated TNS Listener service.

Please check the overlap of the backup windows between database backups policy and archive backup policy.

i can see the below eeror from rman log for windows and linux oracler clients.
please could you provide some light on this.

This is not a NetBackup problem.Your Oracle team needs to troubleshoot this:
RMAN-04004: error from recovery catalog database: ORA-12170: TNS:cconnect time out
