Hi techies,

I've three questions,

How do we upgrade from current 7.5 to 7.5.05? (running in windows server 2008)

How to revert back if we encounter issues after the patching?

How to upgrade NetBackup OpsCenter?

Download link as well instructions in these URLs:

WINDOWS:

NB_7.5.0.5.winnt.x86.exe provides fixes for NetBackup 7.5 on 32-bit Windows server and clients.
www.symantec.com/docs/TECH199241

NB_7.5.0.5.winnt.x64.exe provides fixes for NetBackup (tm) 7.5 on x64 Windows server and clients.

The aboveTNs contain install and uninstall instructions, but it is never a good idea to uninstall a patch from a master because the EMM version is upgraded during patch install.

Rather troubleshoot and fix issues that may occur as the patch is fixing more issues than it may cause.

Possible issues (along with fixes) have been documented in 7.5 Late Breaking News: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH178334
See "Latest Issues:" section in this TN.

And here are the rest of the 7.5.0.5 packages (including OpsCenter - upgrade OpsCenter first!)

thanks all for the docs,

and i have two more question,

Does the patching require reboot?

and if we update the patch in sever , does the clients get the update from the server or do we need to apply a seperate patch for client?

If you ensure that there is no backup or restore activity, and that all GUI's are closed, the patch should not ask for a reboot. A reboot is only requested if there were open NBU files during the upgrade.

You can use the same patch to upgrade Windows clients on NBU 7.5. When the installation starts. select 'Install to computers on your network'.

If you have Unix clients, you need to download patch separately and install directly on clients.
