Hi All,

I need the procedure to upgrade a couple of Solaris  clients from 7.6.0.1 to 7.6.0.3 and I can't get the admin guide link. Can someone send me the procedure or link.

I want to see if its similar to the AIX client upgrade.

Thanks in advance!

The FULL instructions are listed in the 7.6.0.3 Download page where you can download the client software

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH217831

However I would recommend you go straight to 7.6.0.4:

What is your master server Version and if it is a *nix box? if yes , you can directly upgrade the client using upgrade_client command in bin.

Thanks revarooo and rk1074, for your replies.

revarooo thanks for the link, the upgrade worked.

rk1074,

Our master Server is using 7.6.0.3 (Linux), I have never done the upgrade_client  command in bin.  Is there a link on how that is done? or do you have that procedure?.

Best Regards

Nbustarter. Have a look for the Netbackup installation guide. It is listed in there how to use upgrade_client. Glad the upgrade worked. Please mark my post as solution.

It is actually called update_clients. Have a look at this discussion : https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/netbackup-client-version-update-7505-7603 Installation Guide describes how to install client software for other *nix versions on your master. If you have previously patched the master to 7.6.0.x, you will now need to patch the the newly installed client software. Install the Unix Client patch again with -p option to force the installation. Check that correct Client OS version is selected in Policies. (Client Selection can be found in OS SCL.) You are now ready to update all clients from the master with update_clients.
