why backup retry automatically?

When one backup got failed why it retries automatically? I am using netbackup 5.1 wtih RMAN.


Secondly is there a way that i can start the failed backup to backup only the failed objects?

Please advice ...thanks in advance.

1 - Netbackup have a configuration on Master Server to specified how retries the job execute on window defined. You can change this configuration.

2 - What type of backup ?

If you try # bpgetconfig -U, you will see an entry which goes "x times in y hours".

If you never want jobs to be retried, you can set the retry to 1.

select the failed job and right click you will have the option to restart that job which was failed .
