How to find out the classification of a site (and whitelist it) at *other* Symantec customers

dteten
Not applicable
I run two sites, http://www.teten.com/ and http://thevirtualhandshake.com/ , and I have found that some employees of large companies cannot view my sites.  I suspect the reason is that the sites are misclassified as 'career' sites, and their employer blocks such sites, probably using software from Symantec and/or other web security vendors.  However, since I don't work at the companies in question, I can't readily find out why I'm being blocked.

I would like to find out how you classify my site, and request if necessary a reclassification.  See an example of how McAfee handles this at https://www.trustedsource.org/en/feedback/url?action=checksingle .

Does Symantec have an analogous section on its website?  I've tried contacting several names on the Symantec website, without success.

I wrote a blog post on this problem, which is at http://bit.ly/boD9WY .

Norton Safe Web shows thevirtualhandshake.com site as safe, http://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=http%3A%2F%2Fthevirtualhandshake.com%2F&x=0&y=0

However teten.com was untested as of this moment.

Try removing the words "Recruit" and "Recruiting" from your site meta tag descriptions. Those key words may be raising red flags when companies are filtering content from possible career sites.

Best,
