OFFICIAL STATUS: SEPM Definitions stay at 31-12-2009 (LAST UPDATED: 05-JAN-2010)

Current certified definitions are December 31, 2009 rev 116 and contain updates through January 3, 2010.

An issue has been identified in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) server whereby all types of SEP definition content [AV/AS, IPS] with a date greater than December 31, 2009 11:59pm are considered to be “out of date”.

Customers running SEP are still protected, and we are continuing to release updated definitions as normal.  However, for the time being, SEP definitions will display a date of December 31, 2009, with increasing revision numbers.

My SEPM also stays in 31/12/2009.

Some SEP clients in the local LAN got the Virus Def of 07/01/2010 r49, but stll major clients staill stays in 31/12/2009 rev 117 update.

I am not able to figureout, when few clients have received the updatre of 07/01/2010, why not the other clients also receive it?

Could any one clarify?

Leonard,

its because some your SEP clients receive it via LiveUpdate what is not affected, and its normal behavior.
