Service 'symrg' failed to start... during isntall.

I am trying to install the client software for the SPN, but I keep getting an error that...

Service 'symrg' (symrg) failed to start.  Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

I am logged in as Administrator, and all the other SPN services have been installed and started successfully?

I dont even see a service with that handle in the services control panel.  Doesnt look like it was installed.


Any help is appreciated.

There are a number of things that could be causing this issue. Unfortunately, this is not an error message I am familiar with. Troubleshooting this issue might be more efficient if you wouldn't mind calling our 24/7 support line at 1-866-223-5977, option 1, option 2. There is usually only a very short wait time, and your call will come straight to us.


On a side note, are you currently or have you ever used any other Symantec products on the device in question? If so, which ones?
