Finding out when a file/directorty was backed up

Is there anyway finding out when a file/directory was backed up and finished thanks in advance

You would need to look at your backup application (NetBackup or Backup Exec) to find the historical backup dates/times of a particular file.

If you are using NetBackup, you can use the "Backup, Archive, and Restore" tab to bring up the file/directory.  Just pretend you are going to restore the file/directory and select the date range of when you think it was backed up.  The "Backup Date" shows the date/time of the backup where that file was backed up.  It also shows the last "Modified" date of the file that would have shown up if you listed the file/directory from within the OS.

If you are looking for a way to script a lookup of a file or directory's last backup date, I don't know how to do that.

Thanks ron for your prompt reply can I ask do any of the log files keep this information and if so where would these log files be kept Im using netbackup 7.0.1 OS windows server 2008 R2

The normal logging level for bpbkar doesn't look like it will identify all the files as they are processed.  It lists the excludes, but not the files being backed up.

Try asking this in the NetBackup forum instead of the OpsCenter forum here,and one of the regulars there may know the answer to that.
