OpsCenter Alerts on VMs

Howdy all,

Here's the basics...OpsCenter Analytics 7.6.0.1, NetBackup 7.6.0.1 on a Windows Server 2008 box.

I created an Alerts Policy for failed jobs.

Alert Condtion: Job Finalized

Selected job types: Backup, Backup From Snapshot, Catalog Backup, Duplication, and Snapshot (i'm guessing I'm missing a selection)

Include all exit status: Checked with Exit Status Excludes: 0,1, 71, 90, 150

Scope: All Master Servers

Everything works great but I'm not getting alerts for failed jobs on VMware clients.  And my daily failure report doesn't show a failed job if the failure was a VMware client.  What am I missing?

Review your "backup host" and check that it has the opscenter server hostname is added as an additonal server.

On the master server > host properties > clients
> double click the name of your "backup host" for vmware
> servers
> additional servers
> Add...
the name of your opscenter server

If my alerts come through for Windows clients, wouldn't that confirm that the backup host is configured correctly?  I'm getting alerts for all non-vmware clients.

I installed OpsCenter on one of my media servers so it should see itself as an additional server.  Am I misunderstanding your response?

All of my "Collection Status" on all 4 Master Servers show "Completed."  I was having trouble opening a ticket through MySymantec so I'm just going to call it in.  Feel free to send any other suggestions.

OpsCenter is not very user friendly and as it should be. When you do the selection make sure you have slected appropriate columns in second page of the report when you save the report. That selection make a big difference for the end result.

Please review both of your alert and report one more time.

Pls share the snapshot of Alert configuration for better understanding.

I am attaching a Word doc with screenshots of the config.  I have an open ticket with Symantec and they asked for a copy of my database last Friday.  However, if it were a database issue, I don't see how I would get alerts on everything but VMware clients.  I'll let you know what Symantec finds.
