I always look forward to Partner Engage and the opportunity to spend time with our partners. This year, we've gathered about 300 partners in Chandler, AZ to provide an update on Symantec's product vision and channel strategy.
Symantec is rapidly evolving as a company and Partner Engage gives us an opportunity to share Symantec's vision and help our partners take their businesses to the next level with our solutions. This year, we're talking a lot about key industry trends—like cloud, virtualization and mobility—and the impact they're having on Symantec and our partners. My goal is to have everyone here walk away with new ideas around how to take advantage of these opportunities.
To that end, today we announced that two of our Symantec.cloud services—Symantec Endpoint Protection.cloud and Backup Exec.cloud—are now available through the distribution channel in the US and Canada. It is clear that customers are thinking about cloud services and we want to ensure our partners are well positioned to capitalize on the growing software-as-a-service opportunity.
In addition to deepening their connection with Symantec, Partner Engage is a great time for our partners to connect with one another. I'm extremely proud of our ecosystem and I’m seeing some very successful collaboration between partners with complimentary offerings. Working together, they're closing bigger deals and deepening their customer relationships.
I can't say this enough, but Symantec is a partner-focused company and I believe that we live that motto. Our vision is to give every Symantec partner more opportunities to be successful with us.
