Last week, I accepted two CRN Channel Champion awards on behalf of Symantec at the Channel Company’s 2015 XChange Solution Provider event. These awards honor Symantec products in both the security and storage categories, and are part of a recent string of prestigious honors recognizing the company’s strong product portfolio and leadership.

Our recent award wins speak to the depth of Symantec’s commitment to our partners and the great work we are doing together. We want to share and celebrate these awards with our channel community:

Symantec wins security and storage CRN Channel Champions awards. Symantec swept the competition away in the Client Security Software category again, taking home first place in the overall category and all three subcategories: Support, Financial and Technical. In the Backup & Recovery Software/Data Protection Software category, Symantec tied with EMC for first place in the Support subcategory. (In fact, Symantec just missed winning the overall Backup category by 1/10th of a point.) These awards illustrate Symantec’s work to provide strong product portfolios to help our partners deliver the best solutions to address customer issues.

Symantec’s Rick Kramer recognized as one of CRN’s 2015 Channel Chiefs. CRN chose top industry channel leaders for its annual list based on several criteria, including program improvements made over the past year, the most innovative partner initiatives from 2014 and key channel investments made in the prior year. Rick Kramer was selected for his leadership role in the launch of Symantec’s redesigned Partner Program this year, among other accomplishments.

Symantec awarded 5-Star rating in CRN’s 2015 Partner Program Guide, taking home honors in the security, storage, software and cloud categories. Each year, CRN assesses vendors’ channel programs and compiles its findings in the Partner Program Guide, a definitive listing of technology vendors that solution providers rely on to provide products through the IT channel. For the seventh year in a row, Symantec joins an elite subset of vendors awarded 5-Star Partner Program ratings, honoring companies that offer the best partnering elements in their channel programs. CRN highlighted Symantec’s industry-leading performance in the security, storage, software and cloud categories. This is a high-profile validation of Symantec’s redesigned Partner Program.

En Pointe Technologies named Symantec its “security partner of the year” for the second year in a row. Symantec was selected based on revenue metrics and other factors such as growth and partner engagement. Symantec and En Pointe have a shared a long and prosperous history together, going back to 1993. We have a true partnership that allows us to deliver unrivalled value for our joint customers. We’re honored to have received this award for the second year running and look forward to achieving more great things in the future.

Symantec’s Rob Iannicello won CDW Canada’s “best deal closer rep” award. Representatives from CDW Canada, a leading provider of technology solutions for Canadian private and public sector organizations, nominated Rob for this award, which recognizes vendor representatives who are focused on effectively closing business deals. Rob beat out five other nominees to take home this honor, which elevates Symantec’s profile as a responsive, involved and cutting-edge vendor.

We’re humbled by this recognition, and thank all of our partners for making this possible. We look forward to continuing to work with our partner community to deliver strong customer solutions and mutual success.
