To Veritas customers participating in the NBKubed beta program: thank you! I am very pleased to announce the release of NetBackup 8.2 for the NBKubed beta. In the NBKubed beta program, we’re inviting participants to test desired use cases for backup in their cluster. The intent is to run the master server inside a cluster—depending on the specific needs of your system, you can choose to run the media servers inside or outside the cluster. NBKubed works with the latest released client container.

- You may receive a message saying, “Access denied to the software,” though your request will be reviewed and approved for access.

This is a beta and is meant for a test environment, not your production environment. We have released this functionality early to gather feedback; please let us know if a needed feature is not functioning as expected. This beta was designed primarily for an on-premise cluster, however it should work in a cloud cluster including Amazon EKS. It is designed for Kubernetes, but can also work in your OpenShift environment.
