New Release: Symantec Operations Readiness Tool 3.7

On July 26, 2012, Symantec completed another release of Symantec Operations Readiness Tool (SORT). With SORT’s focus of improving the total customer experience for NetBackup and Storage Foundation customers, we’ve added the following features and improvements to the website:

General

  • Support for additional NetBackup family products (all Appliances and PureDisk) in the Hot Fix / EEB Release Auditor widget.  Thank you to the CFT Team for their collaboration on this effort.
  • Support for NetBackup and OpsCenter 7.5.0.3 maintenance release in the installation and upgrade checklist and custom reports (originally made available the same day it was released via an asynchronous update)
  • Support for the NetBackup 52xx 2.5 Appliance (DeLorean) release in the installation and upgrade checklist (originally made available the same day it was released via an asynchronous update)
  • Incorporate updates from changes to all NetBackup compatibility lists (Operating System (SCL) and associated features, Hardware (HCL), etc.)

Installation and Upgrade Custom Report

  • Support for NetBackup & OpsCenter 7.5.0.3
  • Oracle Linux name changes
  • Support for the Solaris 11 SPARC and x6-64 platform as a master server

Installation and Upgrade Checklist

  • The addition of the capability to release new, timely important information in a special Important Notes section at the beginning of the installation and upgrade checklist.
  • Support for NetBackup & OpsCenter 7.5.0.3
  • Support for the NetBackup 52xx 2.5 Appliance (DeLorean)
  • Oracle Linux name changes
  • Support for the Solaris 11 SPARC and x6-64 platform as a master server
  • Support for FreeBSD 8.2 & 8.3 x86-32 and x86-64 platforms
  • Support for the Ubuntu 12.04 x86-64 platform
  • Support for the most current device mappings tech note information
