VRE Exchange question

Can VRE replicate Exchange files as it can SQL files? What I mean is, after reading the documentation, it seems like you can replicate SQL DB files to a disk, but you have to replicate Exchange files to another Exchange server. Can it replicate the Exchange files just to another disk, rather than a live Exchange server?

Yes, it can replicate the files only, if that's what you want.
The White Paper refers to setting up a second Exchange server as a standby, but you don't have to do this.
Just make sure that you replicate ALL the Exchange data you'll need.

We were advised by Symantec NOT to replicate live Exchange data, and were advised that the white paper was best ignored (!).   Instead, we have had to configure NTbackup to dump exchange data to disk in a .bkf file, and then replicate that.  Rebuilding at the other end (when we have to) is a huge pain as we have to build up the recovery server and restore the backup files.   If you have 'proper' exchange replication running, I'd love to know the secret Smiley Happy
