VRE to Replicate VMWare Virtual Machines (GSX)

We plan to use Veritas Replication Exec to replicate a few SQL Server databases (running on physical machines) and a few file systems to other machines providing a high availability and disaster recovery solution. Veritas makes it clear that, while Replication Exec can be used to replicate just about any data in near real-time with complete write order fidelity, they can't replicate the boot drive of the machine that is running replication exec.

If we had a VMWare GSX server that was running collection of virtual machines where all of the virtual machines had nothing but virtual disks, all of these disks including the virtual boot drives would simply be files on the GSX server. If we ran Replication Exec on this GSX server is there any reason that we could not replicate these virtual machines, including their boot drives, from the GSX server to another server if both the GSX server and the other server were running Replication Exec?
