Veritas Services and Operations Readiness Tools(SORT) coming online

The new Veritas Services and Operations Readiness Tools (SORT) website https://sort.veritas.com has been online since Sept 28, 2015. Then we reached several milestones in the following week.

  • Achieved SORT rebranding as a new start in Veritas with new icon and new name Veritas Services and Operations Readiness Tools (SORT)
  • Achieved integration with Veritas Account Manager for login and registration on Oct 3rd
  • Achieved redirection from the previous https://sort.symantec.com to https://sort.veritas.com on Oct 3rd. It is recommended that you update old bookmarks with our new domain name.
  • Released Veritas SORT Mobile for Android to the Google Play Store on Oct 3rd.

SORT delivered this release with the following features and enhancements to support InfoScale 7.0 for UNIX, Data Insight and NBU new release.

General:

  • Rebranded SORT to Veritas Services and Operations Readiness Tools (SORT)

Veritas InfoScale UNIX Solutions:

The highlights of SORT Data Collectors ( https://sort.veritas.com/data_collectors )

  • SORT Data Collectors enables the support for InfoScale products on UNIX  for installation and upgrade report, risk assessment report, licensing report and Vxexplorer.
  • What-if Analysis is added for InfoScale UNIX in SORT Licensing report (Product Deployment Report) generated by SORT Data Collectors. It provides the capability to view new product entitlements and required entitlement cores if products upgraded to InfoScale 7.0 and above.  
  • Configurable VxExplorer log directory provides flexibility to set the target log directory in sortdc.conf file
  • Log collection enhancements in Windows Data Collectors to pick up vxdg and vxdisk related logs
  •  Support the replacement of  FTP with Tibco MFT for the Vxexplorer report uploads in UNIX and Windows Data Collectors

Data Insight 5.0

NetBackup Solutions:

  • Supported NetBackup 7.7.1 in Installation Assessment Checklist (https://sort.veritas.com/checklist/install ) and SORT Data Collectors (https://sort.veritas.com/data_collectors)
  • Enabled filtering of new appliance data from HCL based on appliance series in Installation & Upgrade Checklist report
  • Added support for Appliance 2.7.1 release
  • Enhanced the Risk Assessment checklist with the NetBackup and OpsCenter RA in Risk Assessment Report
  • Added support for SUSE 12 z/Architecture in I&U Checklist reports
  • Added support for Windows 10 x86-64 for I&U Checklist
