Hello,
I have SQL 2000 on physical machines, I want to the clustring for them.
Now, When I checked Symantec product portfolio, it is quite confusing to select the correct product for it as many products are there with same name like Cluster Server, Cluster Server One, Application HA, Storage Foundation etc,
Do i need storage foundation with VCS for the said solution or I need some other product from Symantec.
Also, When this storage foundation 6.0 will launch, and this version doesn't support SQL 2000.

You need VCS (Veritas Cluster Server) 5.1SP2. It doesn't surprise me that VCS 6.0 does not support SQL2000 as it is so old and my guess is that support from Microsoft will soon run out.
You do not need SFW (Storage Foundation for Windows) - this is the Logical Volume Management which gives DMP (Disk Dynamic Multi Pathing), extending filesystem online, mirroring across arrays etc. So VCS is the only product you NEED (SQL agent is included for free), but most customers do use SFW and in the past you HAD to use SFW with VCS.
You could also use VCS One instead of VCS. For VCS there is no "master" node - each node can take decisions by communicating with other nodes over the private cluster network. For VCS One there is a dedicated decision maker and this is a 2-node cluster called the Policy Master that JUST takes failover decisions for up to 256 nodes in a "farm". The nodes in the farm can be windows, Linux or UNIX and you can set-up dependencies (like start DB on UNIX first and then start App on Linux and then web tier on Windows). The Policy Master communicates to the nodes in the farm via public network. You can also do better load balancing with VCS One than VCS if you run multiple apps on each server.
So VCS One requires 2 nodes for the 2-node Policy Master in addition to your cluster nodes with SQL and so this product is for when you are configuring many clusters.

Thanks Mike for great info,
So if I am not wrong, we have to go with 2 VCS for windows.
BTW, what is Application HA for windows.

Mike is correct. SQL2000 has its EOL in 2008 !! (possible extension to 2013) So its is time to upgrade :)
To make SQL HA you need at least two nodes (servers) Depending on your diskconfiguration you do not need SFW but it restrict your possibilities somewhat.
We use a VCS infrastructure where disks are mirrored acros Datacenters so we use SFW to take care of the mirroring of the disks.
VCS can in general be used to make any application Highavailable whether it is SQL, Exchange or Adobe. For some Symantec created special agents you can use.
