I am getting the following error message in Windows server:can any one look at the issue and tell us the resolution.

  • host=SDCVCSSQL017ND2    
  • sourcetype=WinEventLog:System  
  • source=WinEventLog:System

You did not mention your SFW or Windows version?

Are you opening the Event Log on the server itself or on another machine (e.g. your local desktop)? If you are viewing the message on the server itself, you should not be seeing this message:

Message=Splunk could not get the description for this event. 
Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupt.

Normally you would get a message that gives a bit more information about the actual problem.
