How to create backup interface for VCS running NBU 7.1

Dear all,

I am new to SFHA for window 6.0. Our environment is that we have setup a VCS 6.0 for windows 2008 R2 running NBU 7.1.

The default virtual hostname bind to virtual production LAN adaptor.

Now we need to setup virtual backup LAN adaptor for backup.

How can I create a virtual backup hostname bind to virtual backup LAN adaptor for VCS NetBackup 7.1 Server.

Thanks,

Mike

The backup LAN will be on a separate NIC, right?

Add another NIC resource (with localized attributes for the 2 nodes) to the NBU service group as well as another IP and Lanman resource for IP + hostname for this NIC. Ensure DNS is updated with this new IP address and hostname.

Link NBU resource to new Lanman, Lanman to IP, IP to NIC.  Keep existing dependencies. This means NBU resource will need all of the following before coming online:
Lanman for Virtual hostname
Lanman for backup LAN
Mount resource for catalog volume.

Add another SERVER entry in NBU for the new hostname.

Follow NBU documentation to config backups on backup LAN.
