Software RAID6 ?

Everyone,

I am running Storage Foundation For Windows 5.1 SP1 on Windows Server 2008.  I would like to create a software RAID6 array with two hot spares.  Is this possible?  I have researched and only found references to RAID5 in the manuals.  I have found posts on the web where people talk about using SF with RAID6, but I'm not sure if they have hardware that supports RAID6 or if  they are using the linux version (not sure that it does, maybe it has the capability since it has lvm and mdadm).  Thanks for your help

No Software Raid 6 (yet...)
Extract from SF 5.1 SP1 Admin Guide p.50:

Dynamic volume layouts or types
There are five dynamic volume layouts or types—concatenated (simple or spanned),
mirrored, striped, RAID-5, and mirrored striped (RAID 0+1).

See “Dynamic volume types” on page 57.

Thank you for your reply.  Is there any software that will allow me to run RAID6 in Windows or do I need to stick with linux?  I currently have Ubuntu Server 8.04 running RAID6 using mdadm and XFS for the file system.  I am checking into OpenSolaris and ZFS, since it seems to be the hot thing right now.
