Hello,
as the windows backup times out when backing up a Windows 2008 R2 SP2 failover cluster wih SF disks please advise what kind of
backup solution to use in order to provide Bare Metal Recovery for disaster recovery situation for the failover cluster.
Usualy in order to backup the cluster DB the vss cluster db writer and the vss provider is used but on SF disks this time out.

As I've pointed out in your other post - your configuration is perfectly supported with NetBackup 7.1.

Hi lkacso,
SFW supports vss. You might want to try installing the latest cumulative patch (CP.) There have been a few fixes that address performance issues similar to what you describe. The latest CP (CP3) was released yesterday. They are released on the last Monday of the month and contain all of the fixes from earlier CPs.
If you are concerned with using the latest release, then you should try CP2 that was released last month.
