Windows 2012 and licensing

How does licensing work now that Windows 2012 “Enterprise” does not exist?

We recently migrated from Win 2003 “Enterprise” and Storage Foundation HA V5.1  to Windows 2012 “Standard” and Storage Foundation HA v6.0.2.

I reused the Enterprise license key from the old Windows 2003 environment however when I add VVR licens key I get a “wrong OS tier” error

Thanks

Marius

You will not be able to use 5.1 license on SFW 6.x for W2012. 5.1 software did not support W2012.

Three choices:

1. Use the Symantec Licensing Portal:

a. Go to https://licensing.symantec.com
b. Returning customers Login. New users must Create an Account first.
c. After logging in, select the Version Upgrade button.
d. Then select the I don’t have an Upgrade Notification ID button.

2. Contact Symantec Customer Care (link at the bottom of this page)

3. Contact your Symantec reseller.

I would suggest to get in touch with your sales partner to get more assistance. They should be able to get you updated keys for your existing license.
