Hi,

Anyone encountered this problem before?    I have encapsulated  the boot disk of my  Solaris 8 (sparc)  server using "vxdiskadm"   , but when I reboot the system the disk is still not under veritas  adn still displays the  c1t1d0sx slices.   Below is the error messages I got from the console during the reboot process.

Please help.  Thanks.

The message comes because the Solaris command write_vtoc is getting and I/O error while trying to update the VTOC.  This is unusual as Solaris obviously at some point was able to label the disk.  Can you provide some info like:

/usr/sbin/prtvtoc /dev/dsk/c1t1d0s2
/usr/bin/pkginfo -l VRTSvxvm

and whether you see any disk errors on console or in /var/adm/messages?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I did not found any error in /var/adm/messages related to the boot disk or encapsulation.

Here's some more info,  hope you can help me thanks.
