How to bring back disk under veritas control

Hi,

After a problem with a disk array and after getting disk array back up, the disks are in state "online invalid". Because of this it is not possible to import disk groups.

Is there a way to bring back disks under veritas control without losing the data?

you need to run

# vxdctl enable

Please try:

vxdiskadd %disk_name%

or use vxdiskadm program.

online invalid means the vxvm can see disk but there is no priv or public region or if there is its blank or rubbish

vxdisk list dveice will show u if  private region is corrupted

prtvtoc on devcie will show if u have a tag 14 or tag 15 slice that means vxvm has it under its control
