How to save and restore SE configuration

Hi,
Is there a way to save and restore SE 5.5 configuration information?

This includes the 'Managed Resource' information, defined in SE.

This would be very handy when recovering or rebuilding server.

Appreciate any info.

regards

I don't know about the Managed Resources (I think that information is stored under system information folder on each partition) but the non-AD version of SE 5.3 stores the policies, global properties etc under:

hklm\software\veritas\....

for 5.3 I don't think the model could've changed much except maybe instead of veritas it is under Symantec :)..

Don't know whats wrong with this site's login. Been trying to log in for past two day. Something wrong with that 'Sign in' link at the top.

Anyway, thanks for the response.

I've found exactly what I was looking for and here are the details for others.
This document shows how to backup and restore SE 5.3 configuration:
http://support.veritas.com/docs/276880

For 5.5 you need to backup the file VxSEQuotas.md - located in the System Volume Information directory at the root of each drive that contains a managed resource.

To access this file in the System Volume directory, change NTFS permissions. You may also need to unload the quota mini filters manually if they are holding on to this file. Use this at the command line:
fltmc unload filescreenfilter
fltmc unload qafilter

Thats it.

Hope Symantec can automate and make this process easier in future releases as it is pretty important to be able to restore these settings in a Disaster situation.
