Problem with Solaris zones mounting a veritas volume/vxfs from global to a sparse zone

Hello everyone,

I created a sparse zone in a SPARC M5000 server running solaris 10 update 8, the server's global zone manages LUNS from an EMC ClariiON CX-300 through Veritas Volume Manager/ File System 5.0 MP1.

I created a volume on the global zone with a vxfs file system  (mkfs).

I succesfully direct mounted the vxfs file system on the sparse zone by mounting it to its zone path from the global zone. Since this zone is actually another server, I am required to have its file systems to mount at boot, but when I try to add entries in the sparse zone /etc/vfstab I get the error

mount: Operation not applicable to FSType vxfs

This is the entry on the sparse zone vfstab table:

/dev/vx/dsk/dgtst2/tst2 /dev/vx/rdsk/dgtst2/tst2 /tst vxfs 0 yes suid

These are related entries added to the sparse zone through zonecfg:

device
        match: /dev/vx/rdsk/dgtst2/tst2
device
        match: /dev/vx/rdsk/dgtst2/tsttap2
device
        match: /dev/vx/rdsk/dgtst2/tstarc2
device
        match: /dev/vx/rdsk/dgtst2/tstnew2

Are there any known issues that cause this, I am also planning to run veritas snapshots of those file systems for backup purposes thought netbackup. Can anyone with zones experience and veritas volumes/file systems help?

Thanks.
