Regarding encapsulation and initialization of the disk

Hi Gaurav,

Please assist as we know that whenever there are data in the disk we should encapsulate the disk,

Could you please provide the cases when we will have to do encapsulation rather 
then initialization of the disk?

If want to keep the data on the disk, then you encapulate, otherwise you initialise disk.

So if you have a disk with a filesystem on a Solaris slice and you want the data, then encapulate and this will convert the Solaris slice into a Veritas Volume, but if you initialise disk then you will loose the data and the diskgroup will have no volumes in it.
