I have a query for deployment of Storage Foundation in an Environment running different storages, like HP, EMC and IBM. The client wants to use these storages combined together for multiple servers. The scenario client wants to achieve is as under. Please let me know how it is possible.

For SAN side, check compatibility list to determine whether all of your storages are supported by SF. For iSCSI side, it depends on your configuration. Some iSCSI target software must be installed on the box to serve disk LUs over iSCSI. It can be possible depending on the iSCSI software, but i think it is impossible in general, to serve SF(VxVM) logical volumes as LU directly over iSCSI. As alternative, creat virtual disk files and serve them.

Dear Yasuhisa Ishikawa,

thanks for your reply, so i think this is for sure that there is nothing available with symantec that can act as a controler to further allocate the SF diskgroups or volumes through iSCSI
