Hi all,
Here my specs:
OS: RHEL 6.1
Veritas: VRTS_SF_HA_Solutions_5.1_SP1_PR2_RHEL.tar.gz
Patch: vm-rhel6_x86_64-5.1SP1PR2P1-rpms.tar.gz
DiskArray: IBM DS5020
Multipath: rdac-LINUX-09.03.0C05.0504-source.tar.gz
When using vxfentsthdw in order to configure I/O fencing on node 1, node 2 hang on "Expect no writes for disk /dev/sdh on node rhclt02" step
Here is output on node 1:
Testing rhclt01 /dev/sdh rhclt02 /dev/sdh
Evaluate the disk before testing ........................ No Pre-existing keys
Register keys on disk /dev/sdh from node rhclt01 ....................... Passed

I cannot boot node 2 up until clear persistence reservation keys on /dev/sdh. In the past I can use this script without problem using the same config except Vertias 5.0, RHEL 5.3 and rdac 09.03.0C05.0042
Please help!
Thank you,
giobuon.

Is there any specific switch you are using with vxfentsthdw ?
Is /dev/sdh the same disk from both the nodes ? It may happen that dev/sdh is different on first node & second node, you can confirm using vxscsiinfo utility...

I used vxfentsthdw without any options.
vxscsiinfo script confirm that is the same disk on both nodes.

I searched however didn't found any known issues around this ...
Have you verified that you are using the correct array settings as recommeneded in hardware technote or HCL ?
I don't see any obvious reason here for node to hang, if the settings of array are the recommended ones from Symantec, I would suggest to open a support case..

You may have to disable DMP for the DS5020 LUNs, to prevent conflicts between DMP and RDAC. Have you tried VxVM/DMP without RDAC?
Also, in reading the VRTSaslapm_Technote_v11.pdf document, http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH77062, it shows that for 5.1 SP1, the VRTSaslapm package for RHEL 6 requires 5.1 SP1 RP2 or higher. So you may have to install RP2 on top of 5.1 SP1 PR2. RP2 was released on 28-Sep-2011. Typically, you would want to install the latest Rollup Patch set (RPx).
