Storage Exec 5.3 Remote Remote Administration Console installation

When trying to install the Remote Administration Console from the Storage Exec server to a managment XP workstation I get the error "Access Denied" even though the account I specify has full Administrative rights on the destination workstation.

Firewall on the managment XP workstation has been disabled

No errors in the eventlog, not on the server, not on the workstation.

Anyone an idea where to look and is this a known problem ?
When I install the Remote Administration Console locally on the managment XP workstation everything works just fine !!

I have had the same error - Also used their tech article to run a batch file that creates port to be exlcuded but still not working..

just ran it manually - who knows

I have the same issue, but no response from Symantec.

WHY DID I PAY A SUPPORT SUSCRIPTION ????

I am also experiencing the same problem, and guess what.... Not a single response yet from Symantec on my fault call.

Is anyone out there happy with the support obtained for this product?

I have multiple calls for this product since the initial release of version 5.3, and at present I have not had a single issue fixed!

I too have to wonder what is the point of the support contract.

Well i found another fix .. the sesnapin.dll or the console admin crashes regularly ..

anyways .. just copy the .dll file from the patched Server

now i am ono HF12 seems only like weeks ago i installed hf8 ..

now the admin console is working again ..
