Volume Manager Upgrade

Hi,

Could I upgrade Volume Manager from version 3.2 to 5.0 via pkgrm and pkgadd instead of using the upgrade scripts?

upgrade through veritas scripts is not applicable from 3.2 to 5, you need to be atleat 3.5MP4.

you will have to manually do the upgrade via pkgrm and then run the 5.0 installer..

You mean if I upgrade the volume manager from 3.2 to 5.0 using pkgrm and pkgadd commands, the existing volumes still can be accessed ?

yes that is correct ..

you will still be able to acces everything under 3.2 once you upgrade it to 5.0.
