VxVM mirroring

Hi,

I was configuring VxVM mirroring with site consistent on.

I have two disks from different controllers and formed a diskgroup.

Is there some rules on the size of the disks in case of mirroring: like both disks should be of same size, etc..

Regards,

Hello,

Two disks from two controllers is good, but is it coming from two different sites ?

Same mirroring conditions would apply here where you should have target disk of same size (or more) to establish a successful mirror. More size on target disk will be a waste so recommendation is to have exact size.

Please bear in mind that VxVM create subdisks/plexes/volumes with a specific sector size.

If the luns in the arrays are of different geometry, check for total number of sectors to ensure that they match. Same size with less amount of sectors on mirror lun will result in failed mirror attempt.
