Woops.. overwrote VxVM private region

Hello,

Recently I made the novice mistake of having overwritten the VxVM private region of an initialized disk. In particular I took out the CDS disk ID block at offset 8k offset.

Now the disk is showing as having a bad format on vxdisk list. I have tried reinitializing with vxdisk -f init, but it returns a "disk write failure".

What can I do to reinitialize this disk?

Thanks!

Have you ever tried unsetup the disk?

/etc/vx/bin/vxdiskunsetup <diskname>?
