hi,

i imported vxdg import v on node test88 from an vcs cluster.the diskgroup v is on a shared disk between test88 and test6.

then i crash test88.

i try to import on test6:

vxdg -f import v and test6 crash.

i redone the scenario and vxdg -C import v and test6 crash.

how to import v on test6 with test88 crash?

tnx

Hi Marianne,

i reproduced the issue again and i tried vxdg -fC import v and it works.

i think that vxdg -C import or vxdg -f import should work the same.right?

i run sles 11 on vmware and the disks are iscsi presnted to test6 and test88.

no messages in /var/log/messages or /var/VRTSvcs/log/engine*.log

the node and everything is running.

tnx

You did not explain what exactly happened during the test6 crash.

This is certainly not normal and should not happen if all is well at OS-level.

You also did not tell us if resources are already added to vcs or if you were testing prior to adding resources to vcs.

Once resources are added to vcs, then you should vcs to online (import).

Good luck with the rest of your testing.

Are you saying that you issued 'vxdg import ....' command on test6 and this caused test6 to crash?
Was there any error on the screen at the time?
Are there any errors in syslog/messages file?

Is test6 now up and running?
Can you see the disks with vxdisk list -o alldgs?

Are you manually testing resources before adding them to vcs or already added to vcs?
