vxdisksetup error

Hi,

I have an IBM-server with ServeRaid 7k controller.
Now I have RAID5-Hardware array on 4 SCSI-disks (IBM ServeRAID 7k SCSI-controller), wich is splitted in 5 logical disks.
Under Linux I can see them as: (fdisk -l)

/dev/sdb
/dev/sdc
/dev/sdd
/dev/sde
/dev/sdf

But when I try to initialize disk vxdisksetup -i /dev/sdb, I get the error 'Invalid disk device for 'cdsdisk' format'.
And I also can't get the geometry of the disk: vxscsi -g /dev/sdb: Cannot get disk geometry on /dev/sdb.

Can anybody suggest something for this problem?

P.S. vxdisksetup -if /dev/sdb format=sliced
vxdisksetup -if /dev/sdb format=simple
This failed too.

Try hdparm -i /dev/xxx and send me the output or post it here. If hdparm cannot get the geometry then vxdisksetup cannot initialize the disk. The output might bring some info as to why it cannot read the geom.
