SFHA Solutions 6.1: CSSD agent enhancements

The Oracle Cluster Services Synchronization daemon (CSSD) agent is no longer a generic Application agent. It now has its own CSSD type definition that makes resource configuration simpler and more flexible. After you upgrade to Storage Foundation and High Availability (SFHA) 6.1, you will notice that the agent type is set to CSSD.

Additional enhancements include:
  • RestartDaemons is a new attribute introduced for Oracle RAC 11g Release 2 and later versions. The agent restarts the cssd, crsd, and evmd processes if the status of these processes is unhealthy and if the RestartDaemons attribute is set to 1. The default value is 1.
Note: This attribute is supported only on Oracle RAC 11g Release 2 and later versions.
  • Intelligent Monitoring Framework (IMF) is now supported for the ohasd, cssd, crsd, and evmd daemons. By default, IMF monitoring is enabled with a monitoring value of 3. You can disable monitoring by setting  the value to 0.
  • The Clean function now uses the force option to forcibly stop Oracle Grid Infrastructure on nodes running Oracle RAC 11g Release 2 and later versions.
