Symantec ApplicationHA (for VMware) 6.1: Accessing log files

Based on the component involved the following types of logs are available:

  • Agent logs
  • Console logs
  • Installer logs
  • Wizard and user interface logs

The following table provides the log file locations:

Log Location
Agent logs

%vcs_home%log\agent_A.txt on the virtual machines.

where %vcs_home% is set during ApplicationHA installation.

Typically, %vcs_home% expands to C:\Program Files\Veritas\Cluster Server and letter A indicates the first log file. 

Configuration settings logs

%vcs_home%log\AppControlSettings_A.log on the virtual machines.

where %vcs_home% is set during ApplicationHA installation.

Typically, %vcs_home% expands to C:\Program Files\Veritas\Cluster Server and letter A indicates the first log file. 

Console logs

Use the hagetcf utility located at installdirectory\ApplicationHA\bin on the Console host. 

The hagetcf utility writes the output to %systemdrive%\hagetcf\mmyy_hhmm directory.

Installer logs

%AllUsersProfile%\Veritas\VPI\log\DateTimeStamp\AppControl_Installer_A.txt on the virtual machines.

where %AllUsersProfile% expands to C:\ProgramData and letter A indicates the first log file.

Wizard logs

%vcs_home%log\AppControlOperations_A.log
on the virtual machines.

where %vcs_home% is set during ApplicationHA installation.

Typically, %vcs_home% expands to C:\Program Files\Veritas\Cluster Server and letter A indicates the first log file.
