Advanced Server 6.0 - Reboots server during image creation of C: drive

I am trying to make an image of the C: drive (Boot Partition) of a Windows 2003 Server running Exchange 2003. I can start the job and it calculates drive space then the server reboots itself. I can't find any meaningful errors in the event log. I am not sure how to troubleshoot this.

Hi Shannon

Would you please try to disable the startup services from msconfig, reboot the machine and launch the backup again?

Please let me know the results.

Thank you

I ran msconfig and disabled all the startup items and non microsoft services. Tried to create an image and the server still rebooted.

Hi Shannon

Please find below some batch files to stop/start Exchange Services and need to be included in the backup job before/after job creation.

These files needs to be copied into the folder C:\program files\symantec\livestate\advanced server 6.0\agent\command files

Stop.bat

net stop MSExchangeES /yes
net stop MSExchangeIS /yes
net stop MSExchangeMTA /yes
net stop MSExchangeSA /yes

Start.bat

net start MSExchangeES /yes
net start MSExchangeIS /yes
net start MSExchangeMTA /yes
net start MSExchangeSA /yes

Please let me know the results.
