Always the same story... "Timed out sending notification of target device..."... Have now Symantec the solutions?

Always the same story also on SSR2011!

Situation:

  • SBS 2003 SP2
  • SSR 2011 (fresh installation, not upgrade, BESR2010 never installed)
  • NAS for save backups
  • Backups do not start, windows system event viewer "Timed out sending notification of target device change to window of "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec System Recovery\Agent\VProSvc.exe""

Now we have the same problem we have on other BESR installations.

The question is: Have now Symantec the solutions?

Backups never start or they fail after 5% etc?

Do you see any errors in Symantec System Recovery.log.txt (found in \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec System Recovery\Logs)?

As for the 'Timed out sending notification of target device..' message - are you seeing this a lot or ONLY at the backup start time??
