Hello All,

I wonder if anyone can help. I am using BESR 2010  90239714 on a Windows XP 2002 SP2 machine. I had been using BESR 8 on this machine for years with no issues. Today after installing BESR 10 my filelevel backup fail when they start and are creating the folder they need -

-Snapshot error %1.
--Error EBAB03F1: OS error 2147754774.

(UMI:V-281-1975-5)

The backup my drive option works its just the file level backups that are failing. Any ideas?

thanks

Brian

Hello,

This seems to be a windows 7 fix. IF I run the cmd line tool I cant see the COM bit under the computer section. Also if I try and run the fix it fails saying its a windows 7 service.

Any other ideas?

thanks

Hello All,

Any ideas on this? I tried downgrading to the original 8.x version but this is suffering from the abither error on filebackups now. I have reverted to version 10, run the fix install script, used the technote about reregistering the xp Dll with backup provider....

thanks

Any idea Gents?

The http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH124774 link is broken/does not work.

The BESR forums have no information and this is the first thread around this that I can find.

Any help is much appreciated!

Here is the context of the solution:

1 Click the Start button, and then click All Programs > Accessories > Run.

2 In the Run dialog box, type the following and then click OK:

dcomcnfg

3 In the left pane, under Console Root, expand Component Services > Computers > My Computer.

4 In the left pane, under My Computer, select COM+ Applications.

5 When you select COM+ Applications, if you receive any error message, read the following document to restore the COM+ Applications catalog: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH135181
