BESR 2010 - Restoring a dual boot XP / Win7 disk

I am using BESR 2010 Desktop Edition to recover drive images of my old HDD onto a new HDD.

The system was a dual boot XP/Win 7 with XP going on first.

The partitions were as follows (in Windows 7)

C: - 143gb / Windows 7 install
D: - 148gb / Windows XP install (this was installed first!)
E: - 10gb / Data partition (this existed before Win7 was installed)

When I restore the SV2i file using the boot CD, the system refuses to boot past a blinking cursor.

Please can anyone lend some advice on how to get my system to boot? I have unfortunatley posted off my old HDD to the supplier to get my replacement! :(

Thanks guys,

JP

Have you set the options for drive activation, MBR restoration and drive signature restoration for your system drives correctly ?

Dual boot systems are not supported by Symantec.  However, boot strapped systems will usually work successfully.  If there is a problem with a boot strapped OS it can usually be addressed by manually editing the BOOT.INI
