BESR 2010 backup error E7B70001 and EBAB03F1

Hi, trying to get some insight on how to address this issue. Win2k3 32bit server with BESR 2010 v9.01.36527. We run a weekly full independant backup and the last 2 weeks I'v seen failures and  this in the event logs:

Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of (C:\), Archive-Download (D:\), ACT-Peach-UPS (E:\).
 Error E7B70001: Win32/Win64 API DeviceIoControl(IOCTL_VSNAP_MAKE_READONLY) failed.
  Error EBAB03F1: The device does not recognize the command. (UMI:V-281-3215-6071)

There is plenty of disk space on my external storage. I've restarted the vsprosvc service and want to know if there is something else I can look into before I try to run another backup.

A Reboot of the server might help as i think VSNAP_MAKE_READONLY  has todo something with the VSS driver.

Have you rebooted the server ?
