BESR 2011 does not register with LiveUpdate on W2K8 R2

Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR) 2011 does not register with LiveUpdate (LU) on Windows 2008 R2 .

The same Problem was in BESR 2010 (Symantec Tech-Article: TECH128786 http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH128786&actp=search&viewlocale=en_...)

I would need the same type of description like in the mentioned article to manually register BESR 2011.

Have you tried the procedure above but replacing "Backup Exec System Recovery 2010" with "Symantec System Recovery 2011" and the build number of BESR 2010 with the build number of SSR 2011 ?

You could try the build number that you get when you select help from the SSR console and the guid from the registry key for LU.

Here is the solution for this bug:

First you have to download the lureg.exe utility.

Then open a commandprompt (with administrative rights), change to the directory, where you downloaded lureg.exe.

Then execute the following command:

LUReg.exe -REG -PDD "Symantec System Recovery 2011" -PDN "Symantec System Recovery 2011" -PDV "10.0.0.39952" -PDL "ENGLISH" -PDM "{70731099-3501-40B3-BF96-757371640003}"

Now Symantec System Recovery 2011 is listed in Liveupdate.
