BESR 8/ Granular Restore and Sharepoint

Hi,

I am trying to use BESR 8 to backup and restore (Sharepoint) WSS 3.0.

Currently we have the Sharepoint front-end running on a Windows 2003 server and the SQL database is running on another server.

Will I still be able to use the Granular Restore option to restore single Sharepoint documents and folders?

I have downloaded the trial version and installed it on the SQL DB server and it is not seeing any Sharepoint documents when I open up the Granular Restore program.

At this time, Sharepoint farms, a collection of SharePoint and SQL servers to provide SharePoint services, is not a supported configuration. All components of a sharepoint server must reside on a single system who’s disks are part of a single BESR backup job.

Are there any plans to support a distributed system (WSS on one server, SQL DB on a second server)?  If so, what is the timeline?  We are trialing BESR, and this is pretty much a requirement for our environment.

At this time we don't have any information on whether distributed SharePoint installs will be supported.
