BESR Recovery problem

Hello people,

I am trying to restore an image to a different machine,
but after the "successful" restoring the server starts with a black screen and a flashing cursor.

I tried with many options checked/unchecked (Set drive active,
Restore original disk signature, Restore master boot record), same result.

Although the "Restore to a different machine" option is checked
the SRD never asks for the new mass storage drivers.

Could this be the reason or can anyone help with a tip?

Thanks in advance,

Hi,
thanks for the tip, I followed the steps (with the Win2008 64bit CD), deleted all partitions and created a new one but it didn't help, same result.

I forgot to mention that the image is a Win2008 64bit system and I cannot load the appropriate drivers
cause the SRD is 32bit.

Is there any option to force the loading of the 64bit storage controller drivers after the restore process? Normally, since the "Restore to a different machine" option is checked
the SRD should ask the new storage and network drivers but it doesn't.

Thanks in advance.

Hello gavan,

so you've tried my tips but with no success. But have you

checked it with the repair option from the win 2008 64bit CD?

Boot it from there until it finds your windows partition and try the

repair option ( sometimes you have to do this 3 times until it works ).
