Backing up to a network drive

BigDaddy1

I am using Veritas version 16.0.1.56016. My system has Windows 10 running on a  2016 Virtual Machine Server using a Buffalo drive for backups. The server has 2 partitions C: and D: When a backup is attempted it fails getting the error code E4F3000F Unexpected VSS writer error. I can successfuly backup just the C: partition with out failure.  This is happening on 2 different systems. I changed the Buffalo drive and one of the systems ran for several hours and failed with a different code. "ED800018 Cannot add recovery point to the history of this drive." The other server get the E4F3000F error. It also fails when attempting to save to a USB 2T drive.

Any help is appreciated.

Moved  post to correct forum (16.0.1.56016 is VSR 16 SP1 and not a Backup Exec version)

Note: Also deleted the duplicate post that was also posted in the BE forum.

Hopefully someone in the VSR forum can now assist you.

@BigDaddy1

Can you please confirm the exact error in the windows event logs.

Also, just after the backup fails, please go to command prompt (run as admin), and run the following command:

vssadmin list writers >c:\vssadmin.txt

Please reply back here and attach this txt file.
